WITH three days left before the 12th Chipaz Bhora Tournament and music extravaganza, participants in the football tourney are beginning to play mind games to intimidate opponents.
The annual tournament, which is aimed at supporting charities in Harare, will be held at DZ Stadium on Saturday.
Zimpapers FC will take on Christ Embassy FC in the opening game of the day.
UZ Legends are set to take on Drunkards FC.
Sungura musicians will then clash in the match of the day against their Zim dancehall opponents.
“We are not in this tournament to add numbers but we are going for an outright win,” says UZ Legends chairman George Sibanda, also known as Sheta.
“It’s a match that we are going to win at all costs.
“We know it’s a charity match but we are going to settle our rivalry on the day.
“We definitely want to show youngsters that we can also play good football.”
His captain, Tsvuure, also known as Emry, added:
“We are more than ready and prepared for the match.”
Socialites, leb by Wanisayi “Mahwindo” Mutandwa, will grace the event.
Fellow socialites like Lorriane Guyo, Madam Boss, Joey Nyikadzino and Anna “Chibaby” Honde, are also set to grace the event.
The sungura and Zim dancehall teams are busy with their training sessions.
The Zim dancehall team are using Glamis Stadium while their Sungura counterparts are using Old Hararians Sports Club.
After the football battles, an all-night musical gala will be held at the same venue.
HKD boss, Freeman, who bagged two awards at this year’s National Arts Merit Awards, will headline the show.
