Chipaz Promotions are counting their losses after they cancelled a gig scheduled for Takashinga Cricket Club on New Year’s Eve in Highfield due to incessant rains.The gig was supposed to usher in revellers into 2015 but due to heavy rains Chipaz Promotions were forced to cancel the show despite the fact that some fans had already bought advance tickets.
Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza has since apologised to fans who had bought tickets for cancelling the gig at the last minute.
“We decided to cancel the show because of the heavy rains since it was going to affect the performing artistes as well as fans in turning up at the venue.
“So in order to try and avoid unnecessary expenses we had no option but to cancel the show. We apologise to all the Zim dancehall fans and at the same time we want to assure them that we are planning another show,” he said.
He said they refunded some of the fans after they produced advanced tickets while they were still refund those who could not be at the venue due to rains.
“We only refunded those who came early but those who were not refunded must not despair since we are working on another show soon with the same artistes.
“The venue is still to be decided but we are hoping that the rains will not disturb the show. Those who still have their tickets must keep them for the upcoming show,” he said.
Artistes scheduled to perform at the planned show include rising dancehall stars Soul Jah Love, Seh Calaz, Freeman, Kinnah and Killer T among others.
