A 19-YEAR-OLD Chipinge teenager last week allegedly raped a maid whom he had hired to look after his two children.
Simon Mutanda (19) of Jinga Village in Chipinge is alleged to have lured the maid, whose age was not given, to his parents’ homestead with a promise for a job.
“It is allegedly that on January 14, Mutanda hired the maid to take care of his two children while he was at work.
“On January 18, Mutanda took his family (his two children) and the maid to his parents’ homestead in Jinga Village. Upon arrival, the complainant was told that she would share the same room with Mutanda together with the children since there was no spare room for her. The complainant had no idea of Mutanda’s intentions until later that night. He raped her once,” said Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa.
She was sent to herd cattle the following morning and she met Pamwasira Maguta (27) and told her what had happened. She helped her to make a police report and investigations are in progress.
