CHICKEN Inn have welcomed back one of their most recognisable former player after completing the signing of veteran forward Edmore “Spanner” Chirambadare as they seek to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.
The return of Chirambadare reunites the experienced attacker with the Gamecocks, a club where he made his name before earning a move to South African Premiership side Kaizer Chiefs in 2017.

During his first spell at Chicken Inn, Chirambadare established himself as one of the league’s most exciting attacking players, with his pace, trickery and eye for goal making him a fans’ favourite at Luveve Stadium. His impressive performances attracted the attention of Kaizer Chiefs, where he spent four seasons.
In South Africa, Spanner also played for Magesi FC.
His arrival comes at a crucial time for Chicken Inn, who are battling to climb away from the lower reaches of the table after a difficult first half of the campaign under coach Tonderai Ndiraya.
The GameCocks will be hoping Chirambadare’s vast experience, leadership and attacking quality can provide the spark needed to improve their fortunes as the race for survival intensifies.
For Chirambadare, the move represents more than just another transfer, it is a homecoming to the club where his rise to prominence began and where supporters will be hoping “Spanner” can once again help tighten the Gamecocks’ grip on success.
