Chitimbe spent Thursday night in the holding cells at Avondale Police Station.
Police spokesperson Inspector Tedius Chibanda confirmed the arrest saying Chitimbe would appear in court today on indecent assault charges.
“I can confirm that Chitimbe is detained at Avondale Police Station in connection with a case of indecent assault. There is suspicion that Chitimbe drugged the woman and later indecently assaulted her.
“So far there is no evidence for rape but the suspect was found on top of the woman and both of them were naked.
“Chitimbe will appear in court tomorrow (Saturday),” said Insp Chibanda.
Allegations are that the two met at a party some time back and that exchanged contact details. They became friends and on Saturday, Chitimbe allegedly invited the woman to Mbare where they met.
While in Mbare, Chitimbe is said to have bought the woman Red Bull energy drink but a few minutes later she started feeling weak.
She later fell asleep only to wake up the following day and discovered that she was sleeping in Chitimbe’s house.
Both of them were naked. Disturbed by the incident, the woman made a police report leading to Chitimbe’s arrest.
