Chitokwindo salutes Khama

Sports Reporter—

HE was one of the rugby stars in the country last year and speedster Tafadzwa Chitokwindo shows he doesn’t only concentrate on the oval ball.

And, with the focus on the Warriors ahead of their return to the 2017 Nations Cup finals, the rugby star has also been keeping an eye on his countrymen.

Recently, Chitokwindo hailed Warriors’ talisman Khama Billiat for being named in the African XI team by the Confederation of African Football.

“Well done to Billiat . . . representing #Zimbabwe,” Chitokwindo tweeted.

The 26-year-old Billiat was named one of the best XI African players by CAF for 2016.

The poll included players who are plying their trade outside the continent.

The team also includes African Player of the Year, Riyad Mahrez, whom Billiat is expected to battle against when the Warriors get their 2017 Nations Cup campaign underway in Gabon on Sunday.

Billiat was voted the second best player plying his trade on the continent in a controversial poll which saw his Mamelodi Sundowns’ teammate, Dennis Onyango, taking the honours. The Zimbabwean had been expected to scoop the honour.
