LONDON. – Arsene Wenger was yesterday handed a major boost after signing up THREE first team players to long term deals. Laurent Koscielny, Francis Coquelin and Olivier Giroud have all committed themselves to the club on new contracts.Arsenal captain Koscielny (31) will now probably see out the rest of his career at the Emirates which is a major boost after interest from Bayern Munich. Giroud has also committed himself to a new contract after assurances from Arsene Wenger that he will get regular games.

Coquelin will also see it as a major boost as he recovers from a hamstring to be a mainstay in the Arsenal midfield. Arsène Wenger said: “We are very pleased that three important members of our team have committed to us for the long term. Francis has made tremendous technical strides over the past few years because he’s so focused every day.

“Olivier has big experience in the game now and has become a more and more complete player since joining us. Laurent is of course a key part of our squad and I believe one of the best defenders in the world today. So overall, this is great news for us.”

Arsenal are still working on deals for Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez but these three deals are a major boost. But Carl Jenkinson is set to sign for Crystal Palace on a permanent deal from Arsenal this month. – The Mirror.
