CHITUNGWIZA Ward 11 Councillor Chamunorwa Madya has called for the repair of Cheuka Way that leads to Zengeza 3 Clinic.
Speaking at the handover of a 6,2KV solar system and boundary wall at Zengeza 3 Clinic last week by Zengeza West Member of Parliament, Mr Innocent Zvaipa, Cllr Madya said the road is used by the ambulance.
“So council through the acting town clerk, there is need to repair that road. About three-quarters of the people here present from Chitungwiza were arguably born here,” he said.
“So it is displeasing that expectant mothers are driven to the clinic on a road full of potholes. As council, it is now upon us to make sure the road is repaired.”
Cllr Madya said there is need to look into the drainage system at Zengeza 4 Primary School.
“The entrance to Zengeza 4 Primary is flooded. It is also up to us to fix the drainage system so that water flows properly,” he said.
Cllr Madya said there is also need to put modern beds in the maternity area. He said before the construction of the boundary wall, council workers would buy food through the security fence.
“Even those who wanted to leave work without their supervisors’ authority would go out through gaps in the fence.
“But it’s now a thing of the past as there is a boundary wall and a gate,” said Cllr Madya.
