Chitungwiza junior councillors take oath

Chitungwiza junior councillors recently took their oaths of office at a colourful ceremony in the town.

In an interview, Chitungwiza junior public relations manager Tanyaradzwa Shariwa said the councillors took their oaths as a group while executive board members took their oaths individually. 

“We were then inaugurated by Alderman Trenchard Dhenhere, and given a blazer, tie and a badge. Outgoing Junior members were given certificates as a reward for finishing their term of office,” said Shariwa. 

“The outgoing Mayoress Her Worship Maria Mushambi is going to return to the municipality as an Alderman, together with the former disciplinary committee member, Honourable Tokudzaishe Masaraure. 

“There were two representatives of youths and three representatives of the Junior Parliament (Jnr Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs Natasha Jambi), who was once a Chitungwiza Jnr Councillor.”

The Junior mayor is Denzel Whata, deputised by Donavan Mundicha.

Tatenda Alberts is the Junior town clerk, while the Junior town chamber secretary is Shayne Kapikwa, Junior town treasurer is Quincy Kwedyo, Jnr chief of all committees clerk is Zvikomborero Nyimbo, and Jnr projects coordinator is Kimberly Mupfurutsa.

The Junior executive board members are Takundanashe Mudzara and Lucy Chogugudza, while the disciplinary committee secretary is Nokutenda Marowa, disciplinary committee chief whip is Misheck Chikumbirike, while the disciplinary committee spokesperson is Owen Muringitsi.

Disciplinary committee members are Sophia Muganyura and Kayla Ngaru.
