Chitungwiza man jailed for housebreaking

appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Ms Olivia Mariga.
Ms Mariga sentenced him to 36 months behind bars but set aside six months on condition of good behaviour.
Another six months were suspended on condition he restitutes the complainant of US$535.
The court heard that on March 19 this year, Chizhanje broke into Mr John Machangara’s, shop, Bright Cellphones at Makoni Shopping Centre and stole a laptop, soldering gun, and seven cellphones.
On a separate day, Chizhanje broke into Charles Barbershop at the same premises after removing the roofing sheets to gain entry.
Chizhanje stole five hair clippers, an amplifier, speaker, four screwdrivers, soldering gun, an empty toolbox, track suit bottom and other valuables.
Prosecutor Mr Henry Muringwa represented the State.
