A sombrE atmosphere yesterday prevailed at the Chitungwiza Magistrates’ Courts, plunging members of staff into moaning following the death of resident magistrate Mr Kudakwashe Stewart Jarabini. He was 36.
Mr Jarabini died on Wednesday at around midnight on his way to RMC Hospital suffering from typhoid.

He will be buried tomorrow at 11am at Glen Forest and a church service is set for Nyaradzo Funeral Parlour today.

Family spokesperson Shamah Chidhakwa-Bhero said Mr Jarabini’s death robbed them of a loving brother.

“He was a pillar of strength to the family and could go out of his way to assist anyone who needed help,” she said.

“It is a great loss to the family and friends for he was like a father than a brother to us.”

Chief Magistrate Mr Mishrod Guvamombe expressed his condolences to the Jarabini family.

“We learnt with a deep sense of shock of Mr Jarabini’s sudden passing on and the entire magistracy has been plunged into deep mourning,” he said.

“As we grieve, we pass our condolences to the Jarabini family and particularly his wife, Memory. What makes his death more painful is that he was our hope in a lot of ways.

“He was a young man whom we tutored from the time he joined the magistracy. There were many administrative challenges at the time he took charge at Chitungwiza Court.”

The Magistrates’ Association president Mr Donald Ndirowei said: “We are still grappling with the reality that Mr Jarabini is gone and judging from his contribution towards the judicial and the association, there is nothing that can measure his effort and it is a big loose.”

Chitungwiza Area Public Prosecutor Mr Andrew Kumire said it was a shock to learn of the death of a dedicated cadre who immensely contribution much to the judicial system.

Mr Jarabini was born on February 1, 1978 in Marondera; he attended Madzivire Primary School and did his secondary education at Ranch School in Chivhu from 1987 to 1998.

Mr Jarabini was appointed into the Judicial Service Commission on May 10, 2006 as a trainee magistrate at Harare Magistrates’ Court and was sworn in as a magistrate in 2007.

He was transferred from Harare Magistrates Court to Chitungwiza Magistrates’ Court on September 2012 as resident magistrate. He is survived by his wife Memory.
