At least 123 000 people in Chivi are set to receive food aid under the Lean Season Assistance Programme (LSA).

The World Food Programme (WFP) in collaboration with the Government of Zimbabwe, the Russian Federation, and Caritas is spearheading the programme.

It is meant to address food insecurity issues and is expected to support close to 1 million people across Zimbabwe between now and March 2025.

The development comes at a time when the country is grappling with the impact of the El Niño induced drought.
