Chiweshe man drowns while fishing

A 28-year-old man from Maponga village in Chiweshe drowned in Kanhukanwe Dam while fishing using nets.

Provincial police spokesperson Sergeant Major Samuel Chikasha said that Solomon Ditiko, went fishing alone around 1 pm on Wednesday, August 28.

He threw the nets into the water and while pulling them he fell into the dam and drowned,” said Sgt Major Chikasha.

Two men, Norman Mukwasi (30) and Garven Mujongondi (27) saw his body floating in the water and notified Trymore Kawanzaru (34), who filed a police report.

Police officers from Chombira who attended the scene did not see any visible injuries when they inspected the body.
