BULAWAYO: Thousands of people are expected to gather at eMhlahlandlela today as Bulawayo hosts the 2026 King Mzilikazi commemorations, celebrating the life, legacy and contribution of the Ndebele King.
The commemorations follow a colourful procession through the city, with traditional groups, cultural performers and members of the public taking part before the main programme at the King Mzilikazi Memorial Site.
High-profile guests, including South African musician Khuzani Mpungose and Shaka iLembe stars Dawn Thandeka King and Mpilo Mbatha, are expected to add to the cultural spectacle.

The King Mzilikazi Commemorations carnival has begun at Matshobana. The parade is now approaching Mzilikazi township. It will pass through the Joshua Nkomo statue, and finally at the Large City Hall.
