Cholera : Govt to introduce mobile public toilets

THE Ministry of Health and Child Care will install mobile toilets in all public places to combat the current cholera outbreak, which has so far seen 1 343 cases and 53 confirmed deaths.  

Acting Minister of Health and Child Care, Professor Amon Murwira, said the Government will ensure functional public toilets were available everywhere were local authorities failed to provide infrastructure, with the involvement of the private sector.

 Additionally, hand washing and sanitation devices are to be installed in all public spaces. 

“There is a need to improve water, sanitation and hygiene in communities and in the meantime Government saw that there was a need to have functional public toilets in all public places by the involvement of the private sector in the installation of temporary toilets. 

“There will also be the installation of hand washing and sanitation devices in all public spaces,” said Minister Murwira.
