‘Christians should be financially sustained’

AROUND 60 congregants from the AFM of Zimbabwe Super Abundant Grace Cathedral Assembly in Glen View 8 graduated from a training programme aimed at equipping Christians with financially-sustaining projects and skills, with a focus on piggery projects.

The programme was hosted by Fulcrum Piggery.

Pastor Tichaona Tekesi, organiser of the training programme, said Christians should have financially-sustaining projects and be equipped to run them and employ others, so they can change lives.

The programme is reviewed regularly to ascertain how many have grasped the idea, with the hope that it will be integrated into prisons, corporates and entrepreneurial programmes across Zimbabwe.

“We engaged Fulcrum Piggery to come and equip the congregants. As a church, we are touching the whole person, we address everything that a human should come across.

“We don’t leave the social life yemunhu as we bring the congregants together so that mutendi anonamata Mwari anova munhu akakwana.

“Christians should be financially sustained, hatidi vatendi vanochema kuti dai Government yadai, dai tapihwa mabasa.

“We normally do these projects at the beginning of every year. For instance, we invite banks and entrepreneurs.

“I will be doing piggery. I am a pastor who is an entrepreneur as well, so I am leading by example,” he said.

Nicholas Karikoga from Fulcrum said the idea is to make sure everyone has a skill.

“The idea is to equip people with knowledge and skills to have a sustainable life. We want to leave people with options.

“We are also moving around prisons equipping inmates so that they can do something after prison,” said Karikoga.
