die for our us.
We were eternally lost in sin and darkness. The whole humanity was riding upon the crest of God’s wrath because of sin and rebellion and while yet we were sinners Jesus came and died for us!
In the body of Christ, it is unanimously agreed that on the 25th of December every year, the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ has to be celebrated. Humanity was destined for doom and destruction. No man could worship God and please Him under the law and God in His eternal grace and mercies had to provide us with our salvation in Jesus Christ.
Brethren, as we approach Christmas time, I am hereby reminding you that it’s time to sow back love as we celebrate the greatest gift of all time — Jesus Christ.
After having received such great love from our eternal Father, the question that one contemporary Christian would ask is, what should I do to make sure that I sow back this love? If that is also your question then it means you are right on track. Love is not love until it is given away.
God showed His love for us by giving us His Son Jesus. The book of 1 John 4 v 20 and 21 says: If a man says, I love God and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
From this passage of scripture, we can easily see that we all should love Jehovah our Maker. In trying to love Him and before we get to Him, we find ourselves being surrounded by His creation, even our fellow brothers and sisters. Then God is saying before you love the unseen, one has to appreciate the seen. Love that brother and that sister whom God had given you. Sow back love to God by giving to that brother and sister.
You might have missed an opportunity to give sacrificially the whole of this year as a way of saying to God; thank you for my salvation, let me ask you to do so before this year comes to an end at Christmas time.
It’s thanksgiving time. Comparing what the Lord had done for us with what we can do for Him, we find ourselves doing less if not nothing. God had done so much.
Through Jesus, our healing is brought, our salvation is secured, our prosperity and well being is guaranteed. Oh what an awesome God! We are destined for heaven after this life and all is because of Jesus. So thinking of the birth of Jesus, one whose life is in Christ would see that there is nothing so exciting than the birth of this King. The birth of Jesus is the birth of a Christian, it’s the birth of a society and a nation for God.
We should celebrate Christmas in a way we have never done before. Shun away from evil, do good like never before. Look for a widow, look for an orphan and look for only one man or woman of God.
Bring them together to your table, feed them and celebrate with them. Your year ending will determine your beginning of the coming year. Celebrate your thanksgiving in style! My father in the Lord, Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa once said, nature can hear God much more than humanity does.
He said trees and grasses in their seasons know how to prepare for their new seasons.
Trees and grasses know how and when to shed and put their leaves even before the rains come.
Prepare for your new season that is coming by celebrating Christmas in style. Bless your family, bless your friends and above all bless your pastor who has been fighting your spiritual battles all this year long. Do it as a way of appreciating what the Lord has done for you by giving you His Son.
Christmas time is that time to forgive. After the Lord had forgiven you of all the grievous sins you have committed through His Son Jesus, you also need to sow back this love. Forgive those that could have wronged you.
It’s Christmas time, time for healing, time for refreshing. Some of us were actually serious and dangerous sinners, we were destined for hell and nothing else, but unto us a child was born, Jesus Christ who became our redeemer and paid the price of our sins.
Most of us were womanisers, drunkards, thieves and name it, all kinds of the worst sins, that is what we have been specialising in, but thank God for the prophet who sought us and introduced Christ. Together with the whole world, let us celebrate the birth of this yoke breaker, burden and sin bearer Jesus Christ.
Let me leave you with these somehow heart renting questions, what is your target this Christmas?
How much are you willing to spend? How many are you going to bless? Where will you spend your Christmas days and with who?
