PLAYERS come and go, it’s the nature of football the world over and Zimbabwean soccer is no exception as the Zifa mid-season transfer window came to a close at midnight!

The Castle Lager Premiership, the country’s most followed league transfer-window was closed last night and here are some of the most fascinating moves made by players.

While some of the transfers were confirmed by clubs, other player movements remain a mystery, as unearthed by Chronicle Sports Desk.

Hwange FC signed three new players Godwin Goriyati, Hamilton Gomba and Quinton Longwe.

Goriyati arrived from Caps United and has previously played for Tsholotsho, while Gomba was at some stage fancying his luck at Dynamos and is son to club legend Carrington Gomba.   Longwe’s father was a dribbling wizard for Chipangano and Motor Action. They will improve the locals’ component in the side.

Bulawayo Chiefs, for now, have confirmed the coming in of two youngsters, one from their junior academy and the other from a Bulawayo Province Division Two side Mzilikazi Pirates. Enticed by his six goals and four assists for Mzilikazi Pirates, the Twitter Kings saw it fit to bring in 23-year-old Denzel Tanaka Nyamdlambanje into their fold.

Home is best as the old adage says and Chiefs decided to look closer to home by bringing in young Miguel Feldman from their junior structures.

Numbers don’t lie and for Feldman, Bulawayo Chiefs have every reason to bring the lad into their senior team set up. Last year he scored 18 goals for their Division Three side and contributed eight assists. The Bulawayo Chiefs media team described the lad as a dribbling and passing wizard, so much for a boy who is 1,76 metres tall and 59kg in weight.

Word from the Highlanders camp is that, in the aftermath of Godfrey Makaruse’s nasty training session injury, one youngster out of possibly three from the Bosso 90 development side will be promoted into the senior team.

Who that boy is from the targeted trio remains a closely guarded secret in the Amahlolanyama camp and good luck to the rising star who will soon be listening to instructions from Baltemar Brito.

Lastly at Bosso it remained to be seen if they would rope in the services of King Lobengula’s great great grandson Thabo Zikode Khumalo. Nkosilomusa Khanye had a two day training trial last week and scored for fun on Friday it could not be established if he landed a deal too.

It remains to be seen if legendary ex Highlanders utility player Bruce Kangwa will re-unite with his former club where on departure to Azam United he wrote off a US$10 000 signing on fee debt.

Kangwa is a free agent and can join any team of his choice.

Moving to across town rivals Chicken Inn, Denzel Khumalo has been released by the former champions.

The Gamecocks have signed Obert Malajila and Tadiwa Chibunyu as head coach Prince Matore tries to get the faltering Bulawayo side back on the title championship wagon.

In the hot lowveld region, word was that new boys Green Fuel were ready to break the bank for speed merchant Obriel Chirinda.

Player movements by nature are a secretive affair unless announced by the concerned parties and by last night, Chirinda was still a Bulawayo Chiefs man unless the Chisumbanje based team pulled a shocker in the small hours before the deadline.

Dynamos’ Herbert “Jampano” Maruwa signed defenders Meki Meki and Ephan Guvava from Dulibadzimu United of Beitbridge.

DeMbare are losing Elton Chikona to a club in Finland.

A good hunter always makes use of his hunting dogs and in the football fraternity coaches prefer to work with players they trust. Take for example new Sheasham coach Lizwe Sweswe who tagged along with his trusted defender William Stima.

The two worked together at the defunct Tsholotsho FC, FC Platinum and Bulawayo Chief and enjoy a perfect working relationship.

In his quest and mandate to avoid relegation at Sheasham, Sweswe also turned to the services of Kudakwashe Musharu, another player he worked at Bulawayo Chiefs and Zifa Southern Region side Talen Vision.

The mid season additions are expected to play a role in the title race and relegation dog fights.
