MOSES CHUNGA’S future at Harare City came under scrutiny recently when the club’s decision-making committee held an emergency meeting over the team’s inconsistent performance. The Information and Publicity Committee, which is the overall overseer of football activities at the City Council and have more powers than the club’s executive, met at the weekend to discuss the team’s performance.According to sources at the club, the meeting sought to address the team’s performance with particular attention being given to the coach’s strained relationship with some of the senior players.
Chunga is accused of overlooking some of the senior players in the team with players such as Raphael Manuvire, Themba Ndlovu, Tafadzwa Dube, Edwin Madhananga and Tendai Samanja losing their places overnight.
Manuvire has since gone AWOL after his request to leave the club was turned down by the team’s leadership.
The Committee proposed that an indaba should be held between the technical team and the executive to address a number of issues affecting the club.
