In a heartwarming display of compassion and community service, Royal Priesthood Solutions Ministries has been feeding Bulawayo’s street dwellers every Friday since 2022.

Led by Apostle Joshua and Prophetess Penelope Zulu, this church’s selfless work has brought hope to those living on the streets

Their feeding scheme has become a beacon of hope, providing more than just physical nourishment but also bringing them closer to God by inviting them to church every Sunday and providing transport to collect them from where they stay.

Every Friday, scores of people gather at the designated location, eager to receive a hot meal, the church’s dedicated volunteers ensure each person receives a nutritious meal, often accompanied by water or juice and words of encouragement.

In an interview with Sunday News Deconess Agness Tapera said that this philanthropic effort is aimed at showing the street community that they’re not forgotten.

“These people live In streets, we all know how painful hunger is I can’t imagine how living life without knowing when and how you are going to get your next meal is like as a ministry we decided to start sharing the little that we had when we started it was just 20 people but over the years the numbers have significantly increased,” said Tapera

Royal Priesthood Solutions Ministries’ commitment extends beyond food. They provide clothing, toiletries, and re uniting some with thier families. This holistic approach addresses the complex needs of Bulawayo’s street dwellers, empowering them to rebuild their lives.

Among the youths from the Ministry who were serving was Deon Moyo a young man who spent a year of his life living in the streets because of family problems that he couldn’t disclose in an interview he is now working for the Ministry and no longer living in the street in an interview he explained how difficult life was in the streets facing challenges like harsh weather conditions and being vulnerable to violence.

“Life in the streets is not easy waking up alive and finding something to eat is not something to be take for granted I remember there were days where we could starve, with nothing to keep us warm at night Fridays used to be Christmas for us because we know it’s the only day we get a proper meal from the church I started attending church services and I got help I was taken from the streets and am so grateful” said Moyo

The church relies on pledges from the congregation to be able to buy food and refreshments for the street dwellers form serving about 20 weekly people to serving over 100 people weekly.

“We’re simply obeying God’s command to love and serve our neighbors, we donate clothes and soap to these homeless people so that when they come to church they look presentable and are not discriminated on , I believe a even a small act of kindness can transform lives “said Tapera

This great initiative is not yet registered to be giving out food to people and is in the the process of being registered .
