A HWANGE-based church came to the rescue of eleven poverty stricken families.

Pastor of House of Christ Prophetic and Deliverance Ministries Thabani Thuti, said his organisation donates annually (ABOVE).

a?We have been donating to stranded families who stay in shelters since 2013. This time around we gave them blankets and clothes as we approach winter. We also donated 20kgs of mealie- meal, two litres of cooking oil, five bars of soap, 2kg of sugar and 4kg rice to every family,a? said Thuti.

Thuti added that initially there were more than 38 families when theA donations started in 2013.

a?This year there were eleven compared to 38 families that were there when we started the initiative. We believe that the families that have remained behind donat have anywhere to go, as they seek to make ends meet,a? he said.

Despite offering a warm winter for the stranded families, Thuti stated that if only they could give money to the families to educate their children they would have achieved their goal.
