CHURCH leaders around Dzivaresekwa and Kuwadzana have agreed to meet for prayers at the spot where seven lives perished yesterday morning.
District chairperson for Christian Community Police Network, Apostle Benny Chabuka said there is need for spiritual prayers considering the number of lives claimed at the spot involving traffic accidents.
“We have noted with concern the loss of lives at the Dzivaresekwa turn-off along Bulawayo Road,” said Apostle Chabuka. We have agreed with other church leaders from different denominations to meet on a day to be announced for prayers at the scene.
“Some drivers need deliverance while some need counselling before they start their daily duties.
“Domestic violence affects some drivers hence the need for counselling. Some are influenced by evil spirits that are after taking people’s blood.
“There is a spiritual welfare on roads hence the need for prayers,” he said.
Another Dzivaresekwa church leader, Apostle Chigova urged drivers to respect the sanctity of life when driving.
“In the Holy Bible, it is written that Jesus Christ was supposed to die for people BUT woe to the one accountable for his death,” said Apostle Chigova.
“Drivers must bear in mind that they shall be answerable to people’s lives lost because of their reckless driving.
“Let every driver be it for a private or public transport bear in mind that every person matter before God.
“We are organising for a prayer meeting at the spot for divine intervention,” said Apostle Chigova.
Various denominations were seen in Dzivaresekwa and Kuwadzana Phase 3 paying condolences to families of the accident victims.
