EAGLE Life Assembly will tomorrow premiere a Christian feature film titled Hades No Prevail at the church premises in Bulawayo.
Eagle Life Arts Ministry secretary Fortunate Mandizvidza said the movie had Christian lessons as it is themed on the life of street kids, single parenting and the role of the church in society.
“The movie is about Dino, a boy who was sexually abused by his uncle until he ran away from home. When he turned to the streets, Dino was framed for murder and sent to jail where he repented through the assistance of Aunt Rose, a single mother who was an evangelist,” she said.
Hades No Prevail features actors Reward Ndlovu (Dino an orphaned boy), Audrey Mulenga (Aunt Rose, a single mother of two) and Elijah Mugumisi (TK, one of the gangsters on the streets) among other actors.
Mandizvidza said the movie premiere would start at 5PM with an entry fee of $3. The church’s prophet Blessing Chiza is also expected to attend the movie premiere.
“There will be various activities before we screen the movie. The church has two groups namely Sons of the Prophet and Sweet Melodies that will be singing for the crowd. A gumboot act is also on the cards,” she said.
Producers took a week to record the movie in Bulawayo. The 1 hour 30 minute long film was directed by Shadreck Chaparadza Mukumba.
Mandizvidza said they were also planning to produce another movie as Prophet Chiza had come up with a story line.
“Prophet Chiza came up with a story line and title for our next movie which will be titled Accusations. We are yet to sit down with the production team from Harare and discuss the casting and shooting processes when this movie is done,” she said.
