Cimas, HIT join forces in empowering healthcare innovators

Cimas Health Group, has partnered with the Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) for this year’s Healthathon 2.0 competition.

Running under the theme “Transforming Healthcare: Pioneering Tomorrow’s Health Solutions,” the competition aims to bring together a diverse group of students, professionals, and innovators to develop cutting-edge solutions addressing the most pressing challenges in the healthcare industry.

Speaking to journalists, Cimas Health Group CEO, Mr Vuli Ndlovu, encouraged participants to submit proposals for cutting-edge solutions leveraging AI in healthcare.

“This competition began on October 14 and will conclude on October 24. Between October 24 and 25, we will shortlist contestants,” he said.

“While we advertise to professionals, innovators, and startups, inviting pitches, only selected applicants will proceed to the final list.”

He also revealed that an online induction event was scheduled for October 27, followed by the finals on November 1, where a specialist panel of judges will identify the winning innovators.

“We will then identify the winner. On November 1, we have the final event, where a specialist panel of judges will evaluate entries based on a defined criteria to select the winning innovators.”

The winners will receive cash prizes, with the first prize ranging from US$1 500, the second prize US$1 000, and varying amounts for third to fifth positions.

In addition, the winners will have the opportunity to scale up their innovations at HIT.
