Under pressure Harare City coach Bigboy Mawiwi was left fuming at what he described as biased officiating as his side fell to their sixth consecutive defeat at Mandava yesterday.
Second half goals from the resurrected Qadr Amini and Donald Ngoma compounded Mawiwi’s woes.
A late surge, which only brought a consolation goal scored by Raymond Uchena through a penalty, was not enough to save Mawiwi further blushes as last season’s third best team continues to sing the blues.
City find themselves at the bottom of the log, 11 points behind log leaders Hwange.
On the flip side, FC Platinum’s win cements coach Lloyd Mutasa’s position as the team moved to sixth position on the log with nine points.
FC Platinum’s victory was not without its own share of controversy given the blameworthy manner in which Kadoma referee Maxwell Nyamhini conducted business. Mawiwi felt hard done by Nhamini’s decision to point to the spot in the 57th minute after adjudging that James Jam had handled inside the box.
Amini made no mistake from the penalty. Ngoma doubled his team’s lead in the 66th minute after connecting a cross from Marshal Mudehwe.
“It was generally a good game from my boys, we gave it our best shot but the officiating left a lot to be desired.
“It was daylight robbery,” fumed Mawiwi.
