Harare has not received any dividends from the business amid management claims that the venture was meant to ease the burden on ratepayers. Before Easipark, the city collected US$29 000 every month from parking fees.
This meant that council generated US$348 000 annually. Sources claim Easipark is making in excess of US$100 000 every month. They, however, said nothing has gone into council coffers.
In a debate at a recent full council meeting, Councillor Thomas Muzuva, who chairs the business committee, accused management of lying to council that the city had entered into a five year agreement with EasiHold.
