BULAWAYO magistrate Vivian Ndlovu yesterday castigated a city man for poor family planning as his four children will have to share $15 after monthly maintenance deductions.Epinato Chigaduro, a vendor, was dragged to the maintenance court by his estranged lover Gladys Moyo who is also a vendor.

Moyo was requesting the magistrate to grant her $70 for the upkeep of their minor child.

However, Chigaduro refused to pay the   amount saying he had four other children to take care of.

“Your worship, I’ve my own family to take care of. I’m surviving on peanuts because on a good month I earn $35, which is barely enough to take care of my wife and four children. I can only afford to pay $20,” said Chigaduro.

Ndlovu blasted Chigaduro for failing to look after his children.

“You have a total of five children yet you only earn $35. So your four children will have to share $15 for the whole month.  Why do you continue having more children yet you can’t even look after them.

“You must learn to practise proper family planning,” she blasted.

Ndlovu also turned down Chigaduro’s request to deposit the money into Moyo’s bank account as the two were not in talking terms.

She ordered him to pay $20 monthly maintenance starting August 31.
