A MALE scavenger, whose identity is yet to be revealed until next of kin is informed, died on the spot after being run over by a city refuse truck at the Darlington dumpsite on Saturday.
The victim is believed to be of Mozambican origin.
Mutare Town Clerk Blessing Chafesuka confirmed the accident saying efforts to locate the relatives of the deceased are underway.
An increasing number of people are earning a living by collecting waste at a dump site in Mutare and is appealing for protective clothing.
