City top in bowling tourney

CITY Bowling Club are ruling the roost in the men’s section at the Inter Club Fours bowls tournament expected to end tomorrow.
The City bowling team have 13 points and are yet to taste defeat with one match remaining before the end of the tournament.
With just one last fixture left, City Bowling Club have a good chance of being crowned winners of the tournament.
City have won six games and peeled one in their fixtures.

Alexandra Sports Club have 11 points.
Highlands have eight points while Borrowdale Country Club are on six and Avondale are on three points.
In the women’s category, Highlands are on top with seven points while Avondale, Alexandra ‘A’, Borrowdale and Alexandra ‘C’ are on six points.

Highlands skipper Kerry Craven said there is a lot of competition in the tournament.
“The tournament is very competitive, all is going well and I am glad that we have seven points but we still have to do well and win our last match on Sunday to be the overall winners.

“We are looking forward to our last fixture. We stand a good chance of being the overall winners,” said Craven.
Highlands won three games, peeled one and lost one.

Alexandra B team, captained by Dru Smith, want a good finish.
“We have won two and lost three and now we are on four points so we need to do well if we want to win and if we win will go for an aggregate.

“The weekend matches promise to be very competitive, the performance has been fair and it is tough but we are hopeful of winning,” said Smith.
