City tout arrested for blocking buses donated by the President

Police have arrested a well-known tout at Simon Vengai Muzenda Bus Terminus formerly Fourth Street, on allegations of blocking buses donated for youth empowerment in Manicaland Province.

Allegations are that on April 14, 2026, at around 12 pm, Tafadzwa Simbarasi and his accomplices, who are still at large, were among the group of people at Simon Vengai Muzenda Bus Terminus rank, Harare, when new buses donated by President Mnangagwa to Manicaland Province for youth empowerment, namely Manica-Go, arrived intending to load passengers to Mutare.

The suspect, who is the leader of rank marshals at Simon Vengai Muzenda Bus Terminus, is alleged to have incited the other rank marshals to assault Tapiwa Limbani and the Manica-Go bus crew and to block the buses from loading.

He ordered the marshals to assault anyone resisting his order. According to the State, as a result of his actions, Tapiwa Limbani, Shingirayi Muchongwe, Zivai Chinotimba and others were assaulted.

In another case, police also arrested Clarisa Molene Muzondo, believed to be a bogus State security agent who runs a cartel known as Upcoming, for violence and extorting money at some of the bus terminus ranks in Harare and surrounding areas.

She is detained at Harare Central Police Station and will appear in court soon. Sources close to the investigation said Muzondo was in the habit of using the names of influential people, especially Cabinet Ministers and service chiefs, to threaten people.

Muzondo is believed to be using fake numbers of these influential people to threaten her targeted victims before extorting them.

She was arrested by security agents on Thursday following a tip-off.
