Clash of the Titans at city bar

The show is called the Clash of the Titans and will be held at Metropolis Bar at Ascot Shopping Centre.
The show is organised by local musicians in a bid to promote the industry in the city.

In an interview yesterday, POY said the show was to benefit the musicians so that they could make a living.

He said the show was for Bulawayo musicians wanting to promote their own shows.

“The Clash of the Titans is a show for Bulawayo musicians, initiating something for themselves. We want people to enjoy local music and if this one is successful we shall have another one to support local music. The message is support local music,” said POY.

He said the show would have other hip-hop musicians from Bulawayo to warm up the crowd for the titans.

“We have groups such as Karma, Paxido and Style as the opening acts. Our intention is to make this a national thing so that on one night we bring people from outside Bulawayo to perform,” said POY.

He said the show was organised with funds from the artistes in the interest of promoting their music and seeing the hunger people had for local music.

“We put together our funds in order to make people enjoy local music. We saw that we cannot sit around and wait for South African acts for us to perform. Local people are hungry for their own music, hence the reason we decided to sacrifice for the show,” said POY.

Centre Party promised revellers a top class performance when he clashes with Rassman Python.

He said he was not aware that there was a feud with his fellow dancehall colleague but that would not deter him from lighting up the stage.

“I do not think we have beef, my music touches everyone. We cannot be compared it is like comparing a gospel and a museve musician. We are at different levels. I don’t think Rassman Python has over 100 songs like me and is internationally known,” said Centre Party.

Rassman Python said he was ready to go and said at the end of the night he would be at the top of the local dancehall food chain.

“All I can say is that I am ready for the challenge and people would see beyond doubt that I am the best,” he said.

The show would see the local musicians giving away CDs and T-shirts to promote their music. Ladies would be granted free entry.
