CLAUDIA STANDS STORM SET TO BE RESOLVED AFTER 15 YEARS

THE Karoi Town Council has finally broken its silence over the controversial Claudia residential stands issue, which has been raging on for the last 15 years.

Council gave the stands to the residents despite this piece of land being private property.

Council spokesperson, Precious Nharara, told H-Metro that the Claudia issue was a delicate one which the town authorities want to bring to finality.

“It is Council’s considered view that the substantive elements of the matter have met with sufficiently considerable ventilation in public spaces, so far,” said Nharara.

“But negotiations, by their nature, are a give-and-take matrix.

“Council needs to conclude this issue to focus on the various other developmental matters on its agenda.”

He added:

“The family needs to finalise this long drawn out issue and, perhaps, focus fully on the development of the remainder of the piece of land.

“Level heads are prevailing, for now, and Council is confident all parties will eventually completely find each other, after all is said and done.

“A lasting solution is possible.”
