Cleaning, maintaining your airfyer

Air fryers have become a staple in many kitchens due to their ability to prepare healthier meals with less oil, while still providing that desired crispiness.

However, like any kitchen appliance, they require regular cleaning to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Here are some practical tips on how to clean your air fryer effectively.

Unplug and cool down

Before you begin cleaning, always unplug the air fryer.

Allow it to cool down completely after use. This usually takes about 30 minutes.

Cleaning a hot appliance can lead to burns or damage to internal components.

Soak removable parts

For heavily soiled parts, soak them in warm, soapy water for about 15-20 minutes.

This will help loosen any stuck-on food particles.

Use a soft sponge or cloth to gently scrub the surfaces after soaking.

Use non-abrasive cleaners

When cleaning the non-stick surfaces of the air fryer, avoid abrasive sponges and cleaners that can scratch or damage the coating.

Opt for a gentle dish soap and a non-abrasive sponge to wipe down the surfaces.

Clean the interior

The interior of the air fryer can collect grease and food residue over time.

Use a damp cloth or sponge to wipe down the inside.

If there are stubborn spots, a mixture of vinegar and water can help cut through grease when applied with a soft cloth.

Check the heating element

The heating element, located at the top can accumulate dust and grease.

Use a soft brush or cloth to gently clean this area. Be careful not to damage any of the components.

Rinse and dry thoroughly

After cleaning, rinse all the removable parts under warm water to remove any soap residue.

Ensure these parts are thoroughly dried before reassembling your air fryer.

You can air dry them or wipe them down with a clean towel.

Regular maintenance

To make deep cleaning easier and quicker, try to clean your air fryer after every use, or at least regularly if you use it frequently.

A quick wipe-down will prevent the build up of residue and keep your appliance in good shape. − IOL Lifestyle
