A CLEARING agent at Forbes Border Post allegedly raped his 15-year-old relative twice at his home in Dangamvura and once in his car.
The teenager finally gathered the courage to report the abuse to her father after undergoing counselling in Harare. Paradzayi Mudyarabikwa (42), who is the suspect, has since been arrested.
He is facing two counts of rape.
Mudyarabikwa pleaded not guilty when he appeared Mutare regional magistrate, Phathekile Msipa, who adjourned the case to July 15, for the continuation of trial. Prosecutor Last Gore told the court that Mudyarabikwa allegedly abused the minor twice at his Dangamvura home and once in his car in the Mutare Industrial area.
“The accused person is the complainant’s uncle-in-law. On the unknown date to the prosecutor but during the month of December 2025 at around 5.30 am Mudyarabikwa entered into the complainant’s bedroom and closed the door.
“The accused person then threatened the complainant that she was not supposed to disclose the case to anyone. He then proceeded to abuse her.
“On the date unknown to the prosecutor but during the first week of January 2026 and during the day, accused person accompanied the complainant to Mutare town driving his motor vehicle.
“Upon reaching Moffat Hall, the accused person diverted the route and drove to Mutare Industrial Area where he stopped the motor vehicle.
“He then proceeded to abuse her without her consent. The case came to light on June 10, 2026, after the complainant received counselling from professional counsellors in Harare and she decided to disclose the case to her father.
“The complainant was medically examined and a medical report can be produced in court as exhibit,” said Goredema.
