AN orphanage founder, journalist and Reverend, Raymond David Makombera Chinamora, sold his Cranborne house to pay fees for his theological studies at the Bible College.
One of Rev Chinamora’s sons, Joshua Chinamora, disclosed this during the burial service of Rev Chinamora in Borrowdale.
“Rev Chinamora was one of the dedicated men of God,” said Joshua.
“Family members tried in vain to stop him from selling his Cranborne house.
“He sold it and used the money to pay for his studies at the Bible College.
“It became a seed, after completing his studies, our father became a father to the fatherless, and helped a number of people.
“He later opened an orphanage in Goromonzi and a number of relatives crossed the seas to the United States of America,” he said.
Rev Chinamora was on Friday laid to rest at Glenforest Cemetery.
Thousands of people, who included church leaders, government officials and the Goromonzi and Borrowdale West communities, attended his burial ceremony.
AFM in Zimbabwe, Rev Titus Murefu, conducted the service.
