CLUB Eden in Bulawayo today celebrates its one-year anniversary.
Harare’s Judgement Yard are in town and will be celebrating with the club’s patrons tonight. The nightclub which is at Ascot Racecourse has grown in popularity over the year and is now a hangout joint of choice for many revellers.

The club opened  in style with a performance by South Africa house duo Vetkoek and Mahoota. Those who remember the night can recall the duo taking revellers from the heydays of kwaito groups such as BOP, Trompies Mashamplan, Skeem, Crème to the days of Alaska, Mafikizolo and finally high kicking muso Dr Malinga.

From then on Club Eden did not look back. The nightspot reminds one of the days of Kudu Bar or Windermere Hotel which were once places to be and more recently Mojos, which has been shut down.

The spot is unique in that regular patrons are given membership cards which allows them free entry.

The meteoric rise of Zimdancehall also ushered people like Judgement Yard to be hosted at the club, bringing diversity to the club’s entertainment menu. The club’s resident DJs Slamma, Keezy and Kananjo have been striving to give revellers value for their money.

The diverse beverages served at the club’s bar have seen a rise in patrons as they know they will be spoilt for choice without having to spend much, especially after prices for bottles of wines, whiskeys and brandys were reduced.

Club Eden manager Manu Mahaso said the nightspot would continue offering quality entertainment to its patrons.

“Cele-brating one year is very significant as we have come to be known as the place to be for the whole of Bulawayo. We have held a lot of shows during the year and we shall continue doing so. Our patrons should watch out for the holiday season,” he said.

Mahaso said the festive season was packed with non-stop entertainment and patrons should be geared up.
