CLUBS and night spots which had booked Beverly Sibanda in advance have to wait a little longer for feedback with regards to refunds from the former dancer. On Tuesday, the man who led her to God, Prophet Walter Magaya, promised to refund those who had booked Bev in advance in an interview on Star FM.

However, by yesterday some of the club owners were still in the dark, saying they only heard about her retirement in the Press.
In an interview with Chronicle Entertainment, Lawrence Chinoperekwei, manager of City Sports Bar in Harare, said no official communication has been made by Bev or her manager.

He said even if Prophet Magaya offered the refund, they could not accept it.
“We do not have the grounds to approach the prophet (Magaya). So we shall wait for the official contact from Bev’s manager or herself that she has indeed left dancing,” said Chinoperekwei.

He said they would not stand in the way of Bev in her endeavour to turn over a new leaf.
“We will not stand in her way as she turns to God, which is a good thing. We just need official communication from her and we take it from there,” said Chinoperekwei.

“So our hands are tied and we want to respect the confidentiality on the nature of the contract we have with Bev.”
Bev’s about turn has left proprietors of night clubs in a fix as they had booked her well in advance, with some as far as the end of March.

However, Bev’s manager Harpers Mapimhidze said he was ready to refund those who had booked in advance.
“I have left showbiz my friend, for good. I am turning my whole life towards God and serving the Almighty. Those who booked in advance should be rest assured that they will get their monies back, as I have the capacity to pay them,” he said.

Turning to the future of Sexy Angels, Mapimhidze said the brand Sexy Angels was not going to die as he would help the new front girl find her feet.

“The departure of Bev doesn’t mean the death of Sexy Angels.  I will identify one of the remaining girls in the group who will be the road manager. I will be advising and giving them contacts as to where they can go forshows and gigs, apart from that I am done,” said Mapimhidze.

Bev has quit the showbiz industry after receiving a prophecy from her spiritual father, Prophet Walter Magaya of Prophetic Healing Deliverance Ministries.

A Harare woman, Chantel Chidyagwayi, has since been identified for grooming to replace her.
