A MALE coach, who was accused of sexually abusing female members of the ZRP Harare Queens, has refused to discuss the sensational allegations.
Blessing Chari told H-Metro that he was not prepared to discuss the allegations.
He said he was only informed, over the phone, by his head coach not to report for training. He denied influencing any player to follow him, out of the team.
“I did not withdraw any player from the team. The head coach sent a message to me that l should not report for training and I thanked him for that.
“They accused me of taking players to other teams, which I never did.
“The other reason was for signing the contracts as a player agent,” he said.
Chari refused to respond to sexual allegations.
On taking the players to a social tournament, Chari said he was in Mhondoro without the players on the day ZRP Harare Queens FC was handed a 7-0 mauling by Maningi Queens FC at Alexander Sports Club on Saturday.
However, despite Chari’s spirited denial, one of the players confirmed he was with them at a tournament where they won a trophy. The player sent H-Metro some photos to confirm Chari was at the tournament.
“I have some photographs of us with Chari at the tournament.
“I want to believe that the pictures summarise everything with regards to what he is denying.
“Some of us are interested in returning to ZRP Harare Queens since my main aim was to get money. I didn’t know that playing for other teams after registration under ZRP team was not allowed.
“I wish to play for the police team if given another chance,” said the player.
ZRP Harare Queens have played three league games so far and have lost to Black Rhinos Queens (0-7), Herentals Queens (0-9) and Maningi Queens (0-10).
Chari had been working with the team, as the goalkeepers’ coach, for three months, when he was shown the red card by ZRP Harare Queens FC.
