MIGHTY Warriors head coach Shadreck Mlauzi was arrested in Harare upon his return from the just ended COSAFA Women’s Championship that was held in South Africa.

The arrest was confirmed by Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) Normalisation Committee chairman Lincoln Mutasa who added that the association will let the law take its course.

The arrest of Mlauzi follows reports of sexual indecency involving a member of the Mighty Warriors technical team who had travelled for the regional tournament.

“When they were in South Africa there were some incidents that happened. Our Safeguarding Officer (Dorothy Mugari), who was with the team in South Africa interviewed both the accuser and the accused. We came to a recommendation that these were two adults and their situation needed the Victim Friendly Unit of the police to resolve or attend to the issue because it could have involved trauma in both parties,” said Mutasa.

He added: “Soon after their arrival from South Africa yesterday (Monday) morning we discussed the issue with the two parties and told them about the need to go to the Victim Friendly Unit so that the matter can be handled well and get a resolution. They went to court this afternoon (yesterday) and I am yet to get what transpired there. I will have to phone my legal guys.”

Mlauzi recently bounced back to the Mighty Warriors technical team setup after having led the team in the 2016 Olympics Games that were held in Brazil.

He was being assisted by Sithethelelwe “Kwinji15” Sibanda, who also recently retained her post.

Dreadlocked Rudo Neshamba captained the country’s flagship women football team and they  finished fourth in the just concluded COSAFA contest.
