Lovemore Chazingwa in KADOMA
A KADOMA-BASED college has partnered with CMED Driving School to offer theoretical and practical driving lessons in its curriculum.
The move dovetails into the Government’s Education 5.0 policy. The policy embraces teaching, learning, research, innovation and industrialisation.
Bright Future College is now targeting students to get equipped with the requirements of good driving.
College principal, Lucky Dismas, said this marks a new era for them.
“We have of late introduced a number of innovative initiatives to equip our learners.
“We are doing this as a holistic approach to learning. Our aim is to not only produce a learner who is academically competent but mold one who is polished in all realms of the learning world.
“By this token, on top of computers and financial inclusion that we introduced, starting this year, we have added motor vehicle driving lessons onto our curriculum package.
“In this regard, we’ve partnered with the Central Mechanical Engineering Department.
“We now also have a fully-fledged Textile Technology and Design (TTD) department.
“These initiatives will help our learners acquire skills that create vast opportunities for them. The initiatives were conceived out of the realisation that a learner needs more in terms of knowledge and skill to easily prosper in the challenging new world order.
“Our thrust is to complement Government efforts in nourishing well-baked, productive learners free from drug abuse and other social vices.”
Dismas urged parents to come on board in developing the school.
“We say ‘chikoro chinovakwa nevabereki nevana vacho’. Come on board and let’s build the school, no contribution is too small.”
The college managed a 70percent pass rate in its O’-Level November 2023 ZIMSEC exams.
There was a 100 percent pass rate in A-Level.
