College student forms church at campus

HIS peers are concerned with fashion, swag and relationships but a student at Zimbabwe College of Professional Studies has gone spiritual and formed his own church. A�

The church is situated in the college premises and named Believer Love World Campus Ministry. ItA� targets fellow students.

Almost six months after being formed the campus has so far managed to attract 20 congregants.

The pastor, one 23-year-old Bruce Chonga a�� an electric engineering student a�� is not worriedA� by the a�?slow responsea�? from fellow students to worship at his first-of-a-kind campus church at the college in Bulawayo.

a�?The numbers will grow because we are encouraging students that are part of our church to invite their friends, especially students, so that the church can grow.

a�?Our generation is viewed as an age group with loose morals so I started the church to bring students together spiritually. Students who are part of our church also learn to take their studies seriously by following the word of God and working hard at everything that they do,a�? said Pastor Chonga.

The young pastor believes being part of his church has added benefits such as excelling in studies.
a�?Since the church was started in August 2016 well before end of year exams our congregants understood the power of prayer and after their examinations, Ia��ve received testimonies from different students on how the church assisted them in getting good grades.

A number of them testified that they passed Ordinary Level and diplomas,a�? claimed the pastor.

But the pastora��s next claim seems farfetched from reality.

a�?a��I also got a testimony from my niece who graduated at the Bulawayo Polytechnic saying she forgot to write her name on an exam sheet but passed the particular subject, it seems like the power of God intervened,a�? he said.

Maybe ita��s just the candidate number that saved his niece.

One former student at the college and a church devotee believes joining Believer Love World Campus Ministry was a turning point in his life.

a�?a��It really helped me academically because I managed to pass my diploma, I really think the prayers helped a lot because we were praying every morningA� and evening,a�? said the Tourism Studies graduate.
