PROPHET Obey Mukanhairi is a LIAR!
Yesterday, he tried to spin a sensational claim he made to give an impression that we misquoted him.
Maybe, he never thought his wild, reckless and dangerous claims, that there was a vast goldfield beneath the National Sports Stadium, would be challenged.
It’s very likely that he is a man who has been spoiled by his folks who swallow everything he says.
Now, after he received a fierce backlash, including from the police who described his claims as reckless and concerning, he tried to sell a dummy to his 1,3 million followers on Facebook.
First, he said we misquoted him.
“Our submission was Zimbabwe is a mineral rich country and not poor as the world thinks and sits on top of undiscovered minerals not necessarily saying anything is beneath National Sports.
“We wish to correct the narrative and set the record straight apologies to those who were disturbed.”
Then, he issued a lengthy statement which he said was “from the office of Prophet Obey Tichafa Mukanhairi.”
The statement read:
“Our attention has been drawn to reports and social media posts about a parable Prophet Obey Tichafa Mukanhairi shared during a recent sermon.
“Parts of the message have been misquoted and taken out of context, and this has caused confusion and concern among members of the public.
“We want to set the record straight:
WHAT THE MESSAGE MEANT
“The parable was meant to encourage people. Its point was that Zimbabwe is a mineral-rich nation. It is not a poor country, as much of the world thinks.
“Our land holds great natural wealth, much of it still undiscovered, and that wealth gives us reason for hope, pride, and faith in what our nation can become.”
WHAT THE MESSAGE DID NOT MEAN
“The Prophet did not say, and did not mean to suggest, that there are minerals or anything else beneath the National Sports Stadium, or under any other specific national site. Any reading that points to a particular place takes the parable too literally and goes beyond what was intended.”
OUR APOLOGY
“We sincerely apologise to everyone who was disturbed, confused, or offended by how the message was reported and understood. We did not mean to cause alarm, spread misinformation, or create any concern about national property or institutions. We regret that the message was not delivered more clearly.”

OUR COMMITMENT
“As a ministry, we remain committed to messages that bring hope, unity, and progress to Zimbabwe and its people. We will take greater care in future to make sure our teachings are communicated clearly and responsibly. We ask members of the public and the media to rely on this statement as the accurate account of the Prophet’s message.”
Prophet Mukanhairi, of Mellontik Orasi Ministries International, described his prophecy as a parable which was misunderstood.
What the prophet’s statement did not address were the following questions:
• Why did he choose to use the National Sports Stadium as a reference point for his so-called El Dorado, which was a place pregnant with a vast goldfield?
• Does his statement suggest that he believes the giant stadium is a facility which, if mentioned, represents the whole of Zimbabwe?
• Why was he challenging geologists to prove his so-called prophecy wrong if he was speaking about the whole country given that it’s not even a secret, which needs a prophecy, for one to know that we sit on huge gold deposits?
• Why did he specifically claim that the gold “lies 15 metres” below the surface if he was speaking for the entire nation given that it’s impossible for such deposits, across the entire nation, to be found under a specific depth?
• Did he try to fool his followers, with this National Sports Stadium fake prophecy, because he knew very well that the chances of the giant stadium being dug up, to prove him wrong, were non-existent?
Evangelist Chidziva said there was need for Prophet Mukanhairi to respect the word of God and to humble himself for him to be relevant to the community and before God.
Quoting Biblical Scriptures from the book of Jeremiah 23 verses 21 and 31, Evangelist Chidziva said Prophet Mukanhairi did not apologise for posting unverified information on social media disguised as a prophecy.
“In his apology, Prophet Mukanhairi had no reason to describe his claim as a parable unless he doesn’t yet know the meaning of a parable.
“It is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning.
“He is trying to portray that his claim had a heavenly meaning which he forgot to explain again thereby further running away from the truth.
“By so doing, Prophet Mukanhairi is expressing his remorse instead of repenting from misleading the world,” said Chidziva.
Evangelist Chidziva quoted Prophet Jeremiah, when he said: “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.”
The Evangelist said:
“In this passage of scripture, God is speaking through the prophet Jeremiah regarding self-appointed messengers in ancient Judah.
“The ‘running’ used here implies rushing forward eagerly or acting with unwarranted haste to deliver a message they claim is from God, even though God never commissioned them.
“The core warning is that false prophets often display an eager, self-propelled urgency to speak before God has actually given them a true word, misleading people with their own imaginations.”
