HE’S a businessman and that’s not a joke.
Ace funnyman Carl Joshua Ncube and his wife Nelsy recently ventured into providing camping services in the resort town of Victoria Falls for back packers.
The couple moved to Falls in 2017 where the two have set up a website — #Victoria Falls 365 to promote tourism. He also dabbled in radio presenting the same year before taking up a job as a chef at a local hotel.
His latest idea now is providing bush accommodation.
“My wife and I have recently started a business called the Camp Feel Good whereby we set tents that come with beds, linens, duvets and pillows for our tenants and we call it glamping,” said Carl Joshua.
If the business idea really flies it can go national.
“We went with the idea of tents because our main objective is to set up anywhere in Zimbabwe and not to be limited to one place and we are also building a mobile home for moving our tents when we find an interesting location,” he said.
It started off as a “pilot” project where he claimed to be saving up to buy a house in this hard economic climate.
“It’s really about my wife and I, the choices we have made. I am just adjusting to my life in preparation for the rocky road ahead,” he said at the time.
The camping venture has campers living off solar for power generation. Ncube’s long term goal is to also own a camping caravan and a touring bus.
