The Common Market for East and Southern Africa delivered a condolence message to President Mugabe, the Mutema family and the people of Zimbabwe following the death of Justice Andrew Mutema.
“We are taking this opportunity to convey our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, His Excellency President Mugabe, the Government and people of the Republic of Zimbabwe on the sudden death of our departed Principle Judge,” Comesa Judge, Justice Lombe Chibesakunda said in a statement.
He once worked with Justice Mutema.
Justice Chibesakunda told The Sunday Mail that: “We have lost an illustrious son of Africa who was committed for the development of the block.”
He said it would take time for the regional grouping to recover from the loss.
Justice Chibesakunda was accompanied to the funeral of Justice Mutema by Registrar of Comesa Court of Justice, Ms Lucy Nyambura Mbatia and Director Legal and Corporate Affairs Mr Brian Chigawa.
