Community gathers at Muchakata Rural Service Centre to commemorate International Day of Peace

SCORES of people are gathered at Muchakata Rural Service Centre in Chiwundura to commemorate the 2024 International Day of Peace organised by a local non-governmental organisation Centre for Conflict Management and Transformation (CCMT)

In attendance is the deputy Minister of Health and Child Care who is also the legislator for Chiwundura constituency Sleiman Kwidini, Chief Bunina Chisadza and other Government officials.

Every year, the United Nations (UN) marks the International Day of Peace on 21 September.

It was first declared 43 years ago as a shared date for the world to build a culture of peace. With wars and geopolitical tension in evidence around the globe.

CCMT board member Ramphal Sillah said the commemoration is running under the theme, of “cultivating a culture of peace”
