Community service for bashing hubby’s girlfriend

Violet Ngaufe and her friend will perform 70 hours of community service for assaulting her husband’s girlfriend who had visited him at their matrimonial home.

Ngaufe together with Winnet Nyakabau (30) of Manyame Park assaulted Nyaradzo Mutambudzi (31), a security guard at Colcom who resides in St Mary’s after she visited her husband, Zvidzai Raivha. Ngaufe pleaded guilty to assault charges while Nyakabau denied them when they appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate, Mrs Yeukai Chigodora last week.

Mrs Chigodora sentenced them to two months in prison, which was wholly suspended on condition that they each perform 70 hours of community service. The prosecutor, Mr Farayi Katonha told the court that on September 23 at around 6pm Mutambudzi went to Nyakabau’s place to see her boyfriend who is Ngaufe’s husband.

Ngaufe alerted Nyakabau about Mutambudzi who was waiting outside her home. A misunderstanding then arose between the two accused persons and Mutambudzi. In anger, Ngaufe bit Mutambudzi on her left breast while Nyakabau struck her with fists. The fight was then stopped by the public. Mutambudzi reported the matter to police.
