GREETINGS, beloved nation. Habakkuk 2:14 says, “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.”
The word conspiracy comes from the Latin word conspire, which means to breathe together, to collaborate, to be united very closely. The phrase breathe together implies people who are speaking privately at a very close range. It speaks of secrets, agreements and covenants. In summary, conspiring refers to the act of secretly planning or plotting. While it may sometimes be unlawful or harmful, we should understand that conspiring is not only about plotting unlawful acts.
There are also good conspiracies. God is calling us into that act of good conspiracy. This divine conspiracy will produce glory for His kingdom and at the same time, will be harmful and disastrous to the kingdom of darkness.
We recognize different types of conspiring: criminal, political, social, and corporate. However, the conspiracy that God is calling us to surpasses all these types. We must understand that conspiring has consequences, whether it is done negatively or positively. For us, conspiring with God produces positive outcomes, one of which is His glory.
Glory is beyond our full understanding, but when we think of it, many envision a cloud or something that evokes fear. Yet, glory has multiple dimensions. One dimension is that it (i) must be visible and (ii) must be felt or tangible.
We desire the visible manifestation of the glory that results from conspiring with God. Every man and woman of God who has conspired with Him has experienced great consequences in their lives.
Allow me to speak briefly about negative conspiracies that have become common even within the church. One example is found in 2 Samuel 15:31-32, where Ahithophel conspired with Absalom to destroy David. David prayed that the counsel be turned to foolishness.
It’s important to realize that many conspiracies are happening within the body of Christ and in churches—often not of God. People conspire against one another instead of conspiring with God.
In Luke 23:12, we see Herod and Pilate, once enemies, uniting to conspire against Jesus. They became friends for a shared evil purpose. Similarly, in Genesis 11:1-9, the people united to build the Tower of Babel—not to bring glory to God but to exalt themselves.
On the other hand, there are many positive conspiracies in the Bible—people conspiring with God for good. In Acts 2, we read how God conspired with the 120 disciples in the upper room, and as a result, the church was born.
Conspiring can be done as a group, united toward a common goal. Acts 16:25 describes Paul and Silas, who united for good, for Christ’s sake.
It is clear that God is calling the body of Christ to conspire with Him in the secret place. We must understand that the secret place is where God is found. Though God is omnipresent, there is a location called the secret place where He reveals Himself to His people.
In Matthew 6, when Jesus teaches about prayer, He says, “Go into the secret place, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”
That reward is His glory—so evident that everyone will recognize that you have been rewarded. That’s why we say glory is visible.
Conspiracy is a sensitive matter. When you come across people conspiring against someone and you are not part of that group, they often stop talking when you approach, because you are not part of their secret.
My prayer is that God will not stop speaking to us because we are not part of His divine conspiracy.
When Abraham was with Lot, God could not conspire with him because of their relationship. Certain relationships can hinder us from partnering with God in secret. After Abraham and Lot parted ways, God began to conspire with Abraham.
Whether negative or positive, conspiring is sweet. That’s why people often conspire over a cup of tea. But what more when we conspire with heaven? There’s an unleashing of glory that brings a sweetness to our souls.
Song of Solomon 3:1-4 describes a woman seeking her beloved at night:
“By night on my bed I sought the one I love; I sought him, but I did not find him.
‘I will rise now,’ I said, ‘and go about the city; in the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love.’
I sought him, but I did not find him. The watchmen who go about the city found me; I said, ‘Have you seen the one I love?’
Scarcely had I passed by them when I found the one I love. I held him and would not let him go until I brought him to the house of my mother, into the chamber of her who conceived me.”
This woman symbolizes the church. She was sleeping in her bed, which signifies the secret place, where conspired intimacy takes place between a bride and her Bridegroom. Let us remember that we are married to Christ.
When she could not find her husband, it was painful. It’s painful when our prayer closets or altars are empty of His presence. She couldn’t conspire with her husband because something had caused Him to withdraw from the secret place. Similarly, many in the body of Christ continue in comfort—seeing money, crowds, miracles, and international invitations—yet lack intimacy with Him in the secret place.
Conspiracy speaks of intimacy. As we read in verse 2, “I will rise now,” I said, “And go about the city; in the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love.” She was determined not to be comfortable alone without Him. She chose to seek Him in the city, in the streets and in the broadways.
We too should take the same initiative—rising up and seeking Him when He is absent from our secret places. The reason we do not see His glory in our cities, churches, or marriages is that we lack the diligence to seek Him.
The woman took a step to find her Bridegroom. Seeking requires persistence and diligence. Some may be moving but have long lost their connection with Him. Conspiring with God is not a casual act, it requires commitment—like the woman in Song of Solomon who was persistent.
God sometimes hides Himself. When you want to conspire with Him, be prepared to seek Him until you find Him. When she finally joined the watchmen, she held onto Him tightly. When we find Him, let us not let go. When we conspire with Him, we must remain engaged and not withdraw.
My prayer is that we learn to conspire with Him alone and refrain from negative conspiring that produces vain glory. May God raise a generation like Apostle Paul, Apostle Peter and Hannah—people who genuinely pursue intimacy.
In Galatians 1:24, Paul says, “And they glorified God in me.” Paul was a man of intimacy. When we are close to Him, people will begin to glorify God in us because we are His intimate partners.
May the spirit of positive conspiracy rest upon us so that God’s glory can be unleashed through our lives. It’s time for His glory to be manifested in nations, because there are those who know how to spend time in the secret place with God.
One thing about glory is that it is visible to all, but it is produced in the secret place. There are two related words:
(i) Phototropic—which refers to upward growth and visibility, something everyone can see. Many desire this level.
(ii) Gravitropic—the roots going down, representing unseen stability and depth.
Our roots with God must go down deep. When we have this kind of relationship, we will never wither. Just as a tree’s height depends on its roots, what happens underground influences what is visible above ground. Without deep roots, a tree will wither.
While many focus on the visible glory (phototropic), the unseen (gravitropic) dimension sustains it. Like in football, we watch the match but often miss the training behind the scenes. Much of what produces visible glory happens in secret.
The photocropic dimension is where glory is seen, but it is birthed by the gravitropic dimension. I encourage you to conspire with God in the secret place—through prayer—so His glory can be unleashed through your life.
I invite you now to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that He is Lord, and you shall be saved.
May God bless you all.
