Construction of townhouses and villas starts next month at the US$300 million Hills Luxury Golf Estate in Mabelreign, Harare, entering a new chapter since its launch by President Mnangagwa last year.

The project, spearheaded by West Properties Private Limited, will also feature a shopping mall, clinic, swimming and tennis academy and a state-of-the-art golf course.

A number of works, including construction of roads and stormwater drainage facilities have been going on at the prestigious development that is set to enhance the status of Harare as a modern city.

A recent tour of the project by National Housing and Social Amenities Minister Soda Zhemu revealed that progress was being made at the facility.

“They have addressed several sustainability issues, including converting sewer disposal for recycling, which will enable them to reuse water for irrigating vegetation within the facility,” he said.

“Additionally, they will implement a biogas system to generate electricity for use within the facility, along with other sustainable activities. Since the groundbreaking, we are happy with the achievements made so far.”

The construction of townhouses and villas at the site marks a major leap forward in transforming the estate into Zimbabwe’s premier lifestyle and investment destination.

West Properties Private Limited said in a statement that while the architectural elegance of the residences is set to redefine luxury living, current efforts were focused on laying the foundation to achieve that.

“Asphalt roadworks are progressing swiftly, ensuring seamless access across the estate and setting the tone for a world-class infrastructure network,” it said.

“These roads will not only enhance mobility, but also elevate the overall aesthetic and functionality of the development.

“At the heart of The Hills lies its crown jewel: a meticulously designed championship golf course. Earthworks are well underway, with fairways beginning to take shape and greens being sculpted to international standards.”

At the same time, water bodies are shaping up, attracting aquatic and birdlife into the estate.

“Once complete, the course will offer a challenging, yet rewarding experience for golfers of all levels, surrounded by breathtaking views and lush landscaping,” said West Properties Private Limited.

“For investors, The Hills Luxury Golf Estate presents a rare blend of lifestyle and financial upside.”

West Properties expects early buyers to gain from Capital Appreciation as property values are expected to rise significantly as infrastructure and amenities come online.

“There will be huge rental income because of the high demand for high-end accommodation,” said the property developer. “Owners of the properties will have bragging rights as ownership of a property in a gated live, work, shop and play estate gives unmatched prestige and privacy.

“As the estate evolves, The Hills is not just building homes, it is crafting a legacy. Whether you are a homeowner, investor or golf enthusiast, this is your chance to be part of something extraordinary.”
