RUFARO STADIUM witnessed chaos yesterday as the Scottland vs Chicken Inn Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) match was abandoned in the 89th minute following a controversial penalty. Awarded to Scottland by referee Quedsani Dirwai for a Dominic Jaricha handball, the decision sparked player confrontation, police intervention, and pitch incursions by Chicken Inn’s bench.
Despite efforts to resume, fans threw objects, while goalkeeper Donovan Bernard was cautioned and George Majika received a straight red but refused to leave. With no resolution and darkness setting in, Dirwai abandoned the goalless match.
Had the penalty been taken and scored, Scottland would have moved level with league leaders MWOS. The PSL now awaits official reports to rule on the outcome, with disciplinary action against Chicken Inn and crowd behaviour expected. PSL spokesperson Kudzi Bare stated no comment would be made until reports are received.

It was obvious something was going to be cooked. We saw these happening last season but this time it was Simba Bhora being favoured. A penalty had to be created. PSL is run by a mafia like cartel. Poor teams will suffer. It’s a shame.
