The heat is on as the finals of the Nestle Heathy Kids national physical exercise competitions are now just a few days away.

The finals are on this coming Friday and Saturday in Bindura and Cool Lifestyle will be there alongside Nestle Zimbabwe, of course.

So keep a look out for the hippest name in young readership.

Last Friday we went to case out Trojan Mine Stadium in Bindura during the Mashonaland Central provincial competitions held in Friday.

We were totally awed by the level of fitness displayed by the competitors from the eight districts of the province.

No question about it, these kids are eating balanced diets and keeping fit. Chipindura Primary School representing Bindura district proved to be the best and now must face the champions from the other 10 provinces in the country.

Chimanda Primary School of Rushinga came in at a well-deserved second slot while Dolphin Primary School of Mount Darwin scooped the third place.

Fourth was Mupfurudzi Primary School of Shamva, a school we totally loved for the gender balanced approach in their team.

Their athletes were not marked into boys and girls and there was fair distribution in the allocation or roles.

Way to go Mupfurudzi!

Fifth position was taken by Chimanikire Primary School of Guruve while Ginguwe Primary School of Mazowe came in sixth.

We applaud the team in position seven for really making an outstanding effort. Despite a hitch with their music, the team was patient and gave their best. They also had the youngest competitor and we fell in love with her attitude. Well done Hambe Primary of Mbire province.

Chidakamwedzi Primary of Muzarabani came in eighth. We applaud all the teams for their participation and the obvious hard work that went into their performances.

We will catch you in Bindura next weekend. Remember that a healthy body makes a healthy mind.
